Location: NYP and NYFRS Joint Headquarters, Northallerton with the opportunity for hybrid working.
Salary: NYFRS Grade Scale 4-7 (£23,114 – £24,294)

The Opportunity
We are looking to appoint a Data Modeller to join the NYFRS Service Design and Delivery Directorate on a permanent basis.
As a Data Modeller you will deliver accurate and timely descriptive and diagnostic analytics to internal clients and regulatory bodies to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
You will work delivering services in line with the associated key performance indicators and following NYFRS processes and policies. Work will involve engaging with clients to design and build management information report requirements appropriate to both customer and organisational need, that supports organisational oversight and self-service. You will deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate real value to front line services through data and results.
Key responsibilities:
Service Delivery:
- You will need to be able to work effectively with internal clients, understanding their needs in order to develop and deliver their management information requirements in a timely manner.
- You will need to be able to use available toolsets or adapt and evaluate new tools in order to deliver insight through reports or self-service dashboards that provide insightful information that reflect customer need.
- You will also support the broader function in undertaking simplistic predictive modelling and other data modelling techniques to drive service improvement activities, against bespoke commissioned activities.
Regulatory Compliance:
- You will on behalf of the Fire Service fulfil the statutory reporting obligations to the Home Office, HMICFRS and other bodies as appropriate against an agreed schedule of activity.
- You will also research and collate data from various sources and provision information in an appropriate format for FOI requests and collate and present information to organisational performance conferences, internal boards or external partners as directed.
Quality Assurance:
- You will provide timely advice and added value in relation to interpretation of management information and ensure all data surfaced is compliant to GDPR and data protection requirements.
- You will work closely with organisation change process over the early identification of management information that informs future business focused decision making and benefits realisation.
Requirements:
- Need to have a good understanding of data analytics, excellent IT skills, be highly self-motivated with a keen eye for detail. As the entry level role into analytics, you will need to have the skills to adapt and develop your data literacy.
- You will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a client focused organisation where there was a strong emphasis on report writing statistical analysis and meeting deadlines.
